A Nordic Green Products service
The complete life-extension programme for marine cooling systems.
From inspection to new coating — on-site, worldwide.
The problem
Marine growth. Corrosion. Coating degradation.
Without proper maintenance, marine growth, corrosion, and coating degradation can lead to reduced efficiency, increased fuel consumption, and costly downtime.
- Reduced heat transfer
- Higher fuel consumption
- Unplanned downtime

From inspection to new coating.
NGP offer a complete maintenance life-extension program for marine cooling systems.
Inspection
- Thorough assessment of box cooler condition
- Identification of coating damage and marine growth
- Recommendations for necessary maintenance or repairs

Inspection of box coolers Chemical cleaning
- In tanks — a chemical bath of our green products dissolves marine growth, rust and contaminants
- InSitu — cleaning without removing the box cooler from the vessel, for minimal downtime
- BigBag — performed in bags within the engine room if space allows

Box cooler in chemical bath / tank cleaning Sandblasting
- Surface preparation for optimal recoating adhesion
- Ensures complete removal of paint and contaminants

Sandblasted box cooler Pressure testing
- Conducted after sandblasting and before coating
- Detects cracks, pinholes, or seal failures
- Supports quality control and classification requirements
Recoating
- Application of SÄKAPHEN® SÄKATONIT® Extra AR-F coating
- Protection against galvanic corrosion and marine exposure
- No biocidal fillers, ensuring environmental safety

Recoating of box cooler Service kit
- Custom maintenance kits for on-board repairs
- Includes essential tools and coatings for quick fixes

Questions about Marine Cooling?
What does the Marine Cooling programme include?
A complete maintenance life-extension programme for marine cooling systems: inspection, chemical cleaning, sandblasting, pressure testing, SÄKATONIT® Extra AR-F recoating and a service kit for on-board repairs.
Do the box coolers have to be removed from the vessel?
Not necessarily. Alongside chemical baths in our tanks, we clean InSitu — without removing the box cooler from the vessel — or in BigBags within the engine room if space allows, for minimal downtime.
What protects the coolers after cleaning?
SÄKAPHEN® SÄKATONIT® Extra AR-F coating: protection against galvanic corrosion and marine exposure, with no biocidal fillers — ensuring environmental safety.
How is the work quality-assured?
Pressure testing is conducted after sandblasting and before coating. It detects cracks, pinholes or seal failures, and supports quality control and classification requirements.
Can our crew handle small repairs between services?
Yes — custom service kits for on-board repairs include essential tools and coatings for quick fixes, extending service life and reducing unexpected downtimes.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Norway and our service team operates worldwide.
