Project summary
This project brought together two critical services in a single mobilisation: recoating of four box coolers and cleaning of two freshwater tanks. The combination reduced the client’s overall cost and downtime, and ensured consistent quality throughout.
How we worked
The box coolers were manually scraped, high-pressure washed and sandblasted before being recoated with two layers of Säkatonit Extra AR-F. Cooler lids were cleaned, sandblasted and coated internally with Tankguard Storage.
In parallel, the freshwater tanks were drained, cleaned with Odin Gel (HOCNF approved), and flushed with high-pressure water. Rust spots were addressed and coated with Tankguard DW epoxy.
Results
Both cooling and freshwater systems were cleaned, recoated, and documented in the same timeframe — cutting back on logistics, coordination, and service overlap. All work was completed to spec, and the systems were handed back ready for use.
What we used
- Säkatonit Extra AR-F (coolers)
- Odin Gel (certified tank cleaning)
- Tankguard Storage & DW
- Scorex 06 sand for blasting
- HP water systems and custom coating station
Reflections
Bundling these two services into a single scope gave the customer real value — both technically and economically. It’s a model we aim to repeat wherever possible, especially for coastal ferries and wellboats where downtime is critical.
