Product & Chemical Compliance
At Nordic Green Products, we are committed to the safe, responsible and regulation-compliant use of chemical products across all our services. All products used in cleaning, flushing and recoating of marine and industrial systems are selected to meet high technical standards and strict environmental requirements.
Our compliance practices are fully aligned with our certified environmental management system under Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) and our operations structured in accordance with the principles of ISO 14001. This ensures that product selection, handling, documentation and substitution of chemical substances are all embedded in a system of continuous improvement.
Our compliance foundation:
- REACH and CLP compliant products
All products are classified and labeled in accordance with EU regulations. Up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and available on request. - Approved for sensitive applications
Our products include cleaning agents and treatment solutions approved under HOCNF, CEFAS, and by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health for use in potable water systems. - Free from biocides, heavy metals and persistent pollutants
None of our products contain substances classified as PBT/vPvB or other environmentally hazardous additives. This supports safe application in marine and offshore environments. - Sustainable product development
We continuously evaluate chemical formulations to reduce environmental impact and replace hazardous ingredients with safer alternatives where possible.
Our environmental and chemical compliance work is integrated into daily operations, from product development to on-site service delivery. This ensures traceability, safety, and transparency for our customers and partners.

Chemical & Environmental Regulations Explained
A guide to the regulatory frameworks we work within
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
REACH is the European Union’s framework for ensuring safe production and use of chemical substances. NGP uses only REACH-registered products and ensures full traceability through Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging)
CLP ensures that hazards related to chemicals are clearly communicated. All products we use or supply are correctly labelled and classified according to CLP requirements.
SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
SDS documents describe the properties, handling instructions and safety measures for chemicals. We maintain updated SDS for all chemical products used, and make them available to customers upon request.
HOCNF (Harmonised Offshore Chemical Notification Format)
HOCNF is a documentation standard for offshore chemicals in the North Sea. NGP’s marine cleaning and descaling agents used offshore are HOCNF-approved, ensuring compliance with OSPAR guidelines.
CEFAS (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science)
CEFAS is the UK authority that registers and assesses chemicals for use offshore on the UK Continental Shelf. Our products used in UK waters are approved or compatible with CEFAS guidelines.
PBT and vPvB substances
These are Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT), or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) substances. NGP’s products are free from known PBT/vPvB components and are formulated to be environmentally degradable.
PFAS regulations
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of synthetic chemicals under increasing global regulation due to their persistence and health risks. NGP is actively engaged in removal of PFAS-containing firefighting foams, and we do not formulate or sell products containing regulated PFAS compounds.
Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn)
Eco-Lighthouse is a Norwegian environmental certification scheme. As a certified company, NGP follows structured procedures for environmental impact control, including chemical risk management, substitution planning and regulatory compliance.
